Artisan-led Retreat: 4 Nights

In this retreat, you will learn in detail about three different and unique crafts of Jaipur/Rajasthan.  All three are labour and skill intensive, use only natural materials, and where women play a vital role in the production process along with men. 

The three crafts are:  hand block printing, tie-dyeing, and woollen rug knotting.  

You will be interacting  directly with hereditary craftspersons in their  family-based work spaces ( generally their homes). Each day will be devoted to one field visit, to observe and participate in the intricacies of a single craft.  And, in at least two of the crafts – blockprinting and tie-dyeing – you will have the hands-on experience of making your own take-home artefact.
