Cooking Classes in Jaipur: Perfect for Food Lovers

This can be done as a two hour cooking class or as one day experience.

In a two hour cooking class in Jaipur, participants typically learn to cook two or three Indian dishes of their choice, accompanied by a commentary on the broad principles that  govern the approach to food and cooking in Indian culture.

The one-day cooking experience/workshop unfolds amidst lively discussions about the condiments and spices, nutrition, and balancing of taste and textures that go into preparing a tasty Indian vegetarian meal. Whether you’re attending a cooking workshop or a shorter Indian cooking class, the focus is on both culinary skills and the philosophical (ayurvedic) principles underlying Indian cooking.

The one-day cooking class experience has several components:   Planning for the dishes that the participants wish to learn (around breakfast);   a guided visit to a vegetable market (post breakfast); a guided walk through a spice and grain market in the Jaipur walled city (morning);  back at Savista by early afternoon, and assembling all the ingredients for the dishes to be learnt;   learning to cook the dishes, and understanding the nutritive principles underlying the use of the various condiments and spices;  the blending of spices with cereals, legumes and vegetables;  and, the overall role of all of these ingredients in imparting both flavours and nutrition within the framework of Indian culinary philosophy (late afternoon).

Both the cooking class and one day experience require a minimum of two persons and need to be booked well in advance.
