MEETING LOCAL PEOPLE-VILLAGE AND FARM VISITS

This is indeed the best way to get a first hand experience of the Rajasthan countryside and village life. Guests are taken on cross-country walks through farms, hamlets and villages. If you choose to go by camel/bullock carts, local people benefit from the hire charges.

You get to visit households and talk to families, observe women at work in the home and in the fields, understand farm operations and their traditional links with pastoral activities, and also visit village schools and temples. The cost is USD 20 for such an experience.
