naturally reared poultry and meat, and milk from animals
fed on organically grown green fodder. Vegetables and
cereals are grown on the Savista farm and sourced from
surrounding farms, bringing local farmers direct income
without the mediation of middlemen.
Savista draws
on the population of its own and nearby villages for all
its staffing and maintenance needs. By
privileging self-assured rootedness in the local
environment, and the relevance of traditional methods of
farming and animal husbandry, Savista practices
responsible living in its own small way: contributing to
the local economy, and skilling and linking local youth
